FirstLight Trust is delighted to announce that they are the recipient of an award of £40,000 from Forces Support to help develop its latest café hub premises in Falkirk.

‘Forces Support has been so generous in helping FirstLight Trust develop its vision of a flourishing café hub for veterans and their families, in the heart of Falkirk.  To say that there have been some challenges is an understatement, and we are looking forward to creating the type of success that we have had elsewhere in the UK.  Collaborating with organisations such as Forces Support who share the vision of grass roots, practical support for the most vulnerable in our society is truly inspiring.  It is our turn to help to give back to those who have given so much to keep us safe’ Says Dorinda Wolfe Murray, CEO of FirstLight Trust.

FirstLight Trust was formed in 2012 and has supported thousands of veterans through its café hubs by delivering welfare and complex support.  Meeting the need for face to face individual support whilst reducing the devastation created by loneliness and isolation, these café hubs have become a vital grass roots life line in their local communities

Carol Reynolds, Chief Executive of Forces Support, said “Forces Support is thrilled to be providing funding for FirstLight Trust’s latest café hub based in Falkirk, and look forward to seeing the cafe refurbished and occupied. The work FirstLight Trust do is truly invaluable, and we hope to support it in any way we can.”
